We discovered the Petit Varenne by chance, at the bend of an alley on a deco shopping Saturday (the boutique of designer India Mahdavi is close by) and that's when we understood the meaning of the adage "chance does things well". The bistro with its beautiful pink terrazzo counter is one of those places where the simplest dish takes on another dimension through the flavors it offers us. The tomato salad to die for, the cooking of the fish, perfect. We made our taste buds travel and we promised to return.
